BicorDay gathered key professionals of the pharma industry together
The first edition of Bicor Day, organized by Bicor and Dara Pharma, was held on June 12th, in Guadalajara, Mexico, coinciding with the trade show ExpoPack 2019. Under the slogan "The best international pharmaceutical machinery in one day", the event brought together the key players of Mexican pharmaceutical industry with the leading machinery manufacturers, represented by Aranow (Spain), Krämer (Switzerland), Kilian (Germany) and Dara Pharma (Spain).
Dara Pharma’s plant of 1,000m2 in Guadalajara opened its doors to more than 70 high-management guests from the pharma industry, including Operations, Industrial and General Managers, etc. The event began with the presentation of 4 papers given by David Ral (CEO of Dara Pharma), Edgar Bicas (Managing Director of Bicor, representative of Kilian), Gustavo Vidal (area sales manager of Aranow) and Manuel Mayz (area sales manager of Krämer).
After the conference, the guests could experience live demos of several machines. Dara Pharma, with more than 130 machines installed in Mexico, presented a compact monobloc, model SX-220-PP/D, for automatic infeed, filling and closing of injectable vials. With an output of up to 6,000 uph and dosage range of 0.1 ÷ 250 ml, the equipment has been built in compliance with the regulations of cGMP and US FDA, and in special accordance with the pharma and biotech industry.
The Spanish manufacturer Aranow showed a high-speed multitrack machine for stickpack, model an650, for powders, granulates, liquids, gels, and pieces (tablets, capsules, etc.), with a maximum of 16 lanes and with an output of up to 960 sticks/min.
Kilian drew guests’ attention thanks to its innovative tablet press, model S370-Prime, with interchangeable turret. Compact and very robust equipment, with precompression and main compression of up to 100KN, and production rate of up to 330,000 tablets/h. In addition, it can be equipped with automatic IPC, rejection system and complete production batch reports retrieval in compliance with CFR21 Part 11 regulation.
The Swiss manufacturer Krämer showed different equipment, including a high-speed tablet deduster (up to 3 million tablets/h), model KD6010. The machine is easy to assemble/disassemble (no tools needed) and features an acceleration sensor that assures constant vibration, independent of the amount of tablets in the deduster.
At the end of the event, the guests were treated to a buffet lunch, followed by a raffle of Apple products, such as iPads, iPhones, iWatchs and Airpods.
Positive comments were received from attendees who highlighted the importance of live demonstrations and deep technical value of the presentations, what makes the conference a real success. Therefore, the second edition of Bicor Day is expected in 2020.
